It is the world's first instant tea and began as an exclusive health product for the royal family. Tea resin was created in the Southern Tang (937–976 AD), refined in the Song Dynasty, and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. However, tea resin disappeared during the collapse of the Qing, and the methods of manufacturing were lost. Only since 2002 have scientists been able to re-engineer this process. Tea makers in the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD) believed that tea resin was the most precious form of tea. They perfected a technique of pressing, steaming, and washing tea leaves, which were then put into a small press to remove moisture, and then into a large press to create resin. There are many historical records of tea resin from classic texts, including in Spring and Autumn Annals of 10 Kingdoms from the Southern Tang, and Zhao Xuemin’s Compendium of Materia Medica. Zhao Xuemin (1719-1805 AD), a rigorous pharmacologist, recorded the many health benefits both of Pu’er tea and imperial Qing-produced tea resin. So how does modern tea resin compare to imperial tribute tea resin? The modern method imitates the climate, temperature, and environment of imperial tea resin production from the Qing Dynasty using the most advanced biotechnology methods today, including cold isostatic pressing, cell wall breaking technology, supercritical fluid extraction, and freeze-drying, combined to create a Pu'er tea resin that is more controlled, more hygienic, and higher in quality than Qing Dynasty imperial Pu'er tea resin. Note: This video shows our Bulang Mountain old tree ripe tea resin 🍃 We recently had our largest shipment of “mooncake” tea resins confiscated by Customs without cause. While this is extremely disappointing and damaging as a small business, our single estate tea resins from Bulang and Nannuo Mountain are available in ripe and raw Pu’er! (Apologies to customers who have been waiting on our mooncake tea resin restock) . . . #holistichealth #puer #tea #tearesin”. golden hour - piano instrumental - Chilled Pig.
