Yesterday morning, 17 September 2021, started off rather chilly, but eventually warmed up as the day went on. I finally went to Brown-Lowery Provincial Park for a walk in the morning. This forest always gives me the creeps, mainly because I know that a bear and a cougar have been seen there. Not a good feeling when walking alone, so I very rarely actually go into the forest. The only reason I went yesterday was that I knew a small group of people were going, so I knew that there would be others there. I did not go on the walk with them, but trailed behind, keeping an eye open for any sign of fungi, especially. They were not far ahead of me when someone kindly called out to let me know that they had a Three-toed Woodpecker that they were watching. Always nice to see one of these Woodpeckers, especially a male with his bright yellow forehead patch. Finding mushrooms and other fungi was not too easy. Just enough sightings to feel that it was a worthwhile walk. I had found Scaly/Shingled Hedgehog mushrooms there other years, so was happy to come across one, even though it was not a photogenic individual. The damage did show the teeth that these mushrooms have. After walking for maybe two and a half hours, I drove across country eastwards and called in at the Saskatoon Farm for a late lunch and to take a few photos. This weekend is their Fall Fair, so I wanted to avoid the crowds today or tomorrow, especially during a pandemic. There were still a lot of people yesterday. The staff have done a great job of decorating and setting up the farm for fall. Everywhere looked beautiful. After yesterday
