Description: A nice looking and rather unusual pewter bucket. The bucket has a swiveling handle and a round base. The bucket has outwards flared sides ending in rolled rim. The bucket is decorated with three incised lines in the middle of the height. It is marked on the bottom with two marks one showing a fruit bowl with the letters RM on top within a shield and the other of a serpant or snake within a circle flanked by two flowers. It is our opinion that these marks are what is known as imitation hallmarks common in the pewter trade and that the piece is rather new from the mid to late 20th century. Be that as it may, it is a nice looking substantial piece worthy of a spot in your collection, which would display very nicely. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain but most likely mid to late 20th century. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Size: Measures ~3 1/2" in diameter at the base, ~4 5/8" in diameter at the top, and is ~4 3/4" high. The piece itself weighs over one pound and 4
