Made in Scotland, these under tank heaters are specifically designed for the vivarium keeper. The 11"x6" UTH uses only 7 watts, and comes with a 6-foot cord and plug. The same technology as the Flexwatt Heat Tape is used, but it has been manufactured into a pad with an additional polyurethane coating to ensure moisture resistance and durability. We recommend using the UTH in combination with a proportional thermostat or a dimmer to achieve precise temperatures. In fact, Ultratherm under tank heaters should always be used with a suitable vivarium thermostat. For species which are particularly temperature sensitive, or in environments which could prone to overheating, it is important that thermostats are used to provide full temperature control.
Low wattage, long life, and excellent cost make these under tank heaters great for using with snakes, lizards, inverts, hermit crabs and small animals. This is a UL listed component.
