High quality lap stand for cross stitch and embroidery that provides excellent fabric tension without having to adjust it frequently. The design of the stand enables you to use both of your hands for stitching and eliminates the need to hold your frame. The clamps used have excellent design that keeps the fabric tight but also enables easier removal with "lips" on both sides of the clamp so it is easier to grab and pull. If you have your own Q-snap clamps or Loops and Threads clamps from Michaels - these will fit the frame and you can select the option without clamps. Your package includes: - elements for the lap stand - 4x clamps - instructions for assembly and care tips SIZE: 12in x 12in stitching area ( 30.5 cm x 30.5 cm) OR 8in x 8in stitching area ( 20cm x 20cm) 15.5 in x 14in x 10.5in ( 39cm x 35.5cm x 27cm ) entire lap stand ( size will be smaller for 8in x 8in ) WEIGHT: under 2lbs ***Fabric is not included*** The stand is made from high quality PVC material that is cleaned, measured and cut by me and my husband. The stand is very lightweight - under 2 lbs and very stable while stitching. You will receive partially assembled PVC frame with instructions how to complete the assembly. Set of 4 clamps is also included to attach the fabric to the frame. The stand is 16 inches tall, 14 inches wide and 10 inches deep when assembled. The actual opening area in the frame which is also the stitching area is 12 inches x 12 inches. The snaps may feel tight at first use but will loosen up with repeated use. It was my experience that the snaps DID NOT damage the stitches when placed over them but you can also put a piece of fabric or a paper towel over the stitches for extra protection. If the snaps become too loose and don't hold the fabric taut anymore, just immerse them in boiling water for few minutes and they will be like brand new. This stand makes a great gift for anyone into cross stitching or embroidery, I know I love mine!
