I personally handmade this stitch remover - seam ripper in my shop.  The handle is a segmented multi-colored aqua acrylic material that maintains its finish for a lifetime without needing to be refinished like wood requires.

The Japanese metal blades are superior to others and maintain their sharpness exceptionally well.  Pull either the standard size or large size blade out of the handle, reverse and reinsert into the handle to use.  2 seam ripper blades in the same handle.  No plastic caps to loose or break.   The blades are held in place with a metal tension spring - not the less reliable rubber rings.
