Or use it to cut with templates for conventional or english paper piecing - just place the template on the fabric, layer the ruler lip side down snugly against the edge of template, and cut with a rotary cutter. This ruler is also very helpful in hand-piecing: just place lip edge on the outside edge of the fabric piece and mark the seam line with a pencil.
