Mapleton Students win design awards These three Mapleton High School students won awards with their model homes they designed and built as individual projects for the model home competition in the Colorado Industrial Fair in Fort Collins. The fair is sponsored by the Colorado State University Industrial Arts Club. With their projects are, from left, Steve Lotito, 6201 N. Washington St., excellent oward; Steve Goodwin, 5895 N. Logan St., Superior award; and Francid Doyle, 1641 Pueblo Court, excellent award. At right is Robert Preston, drafting instructor at Mapleton High. The houses were made of wood plastic tile and contact paper. A complete set of drawings had to be made by each boy and the model home constructed to scale and in detail from them.
