Description

A reclaimed, heavy and chunky, oak anvil block / rest used by a blacksmith. The anvil rest comprises of a thick block of oak with an indentation on the top to allow an anvil to rest on it. The base of the block has four oak legs or stays to keep the block sturdy. The anvil block could be used for this purpose again or it would make an ideal plinth for an item to be displayed. The oak has a very nice rustic appearance with signs of use that give it great character. The top has some discolouration and staining and a large split in the centre but it is stable and solid. The oak has a rustic character with splits, cracks and holes. There are some gouges and knocks in the oak. Please see pictures for condition details. The anvil block has an interesting look and is a useful item for a workshop or for a home project.  Top 35.5cm x 30cm Base 54cm x 54cm  Height 40cm Please note: Measurements are approximate due to wear and the rustic nature of the oak.
