Pratt and his wife, Josephine, and [the author] J. H. Nixon starting in December 1899 at Spring Hill, Kansas. The volume is divided into two parts: the first - some 412 pages - records the chief points, conversations with spirits etc. that occured during some 81 seances. The second part comprises "written experiences of various spirits while in materialized form. " - this includes several discourses on spirit photography. The book is illustrated throughout with spirit drawings. Although fully independent of it, it is a sequel to the author's "Rending the Vail" (1899). Some rubbing to loth of spine, edges & corners, old blue book tape repair to bottom of spine, spine lettering dulled, page-edges browned, a shaken and with a little spot browning to fore-edge. Still a solid, internally-clean Good+ copy (no dust jacket).
