Description

This paper mache bowl has been hand shaped in rural India. The art of paper mache in India was born out of necessity in order to minimize waste. Artisans collect and recycle paper products and form them into a pulp. Using traditional methods, the pulp is layered and molded by hand into its desired shape. Today, paper mache is considered a luxury ornamental handicraft in India.
