Sewing clothes by hand took several weeks to complete and because of the high cost of labor, only the rich could afford it. Today, hand sewing is mostly done in haute couture fashion houses and bespoke tailors’ ateliers. Their clientele is limited to people in the entertainment industry, political figures, entrepreneurs, royals, and other wealthy or higher social status individuals.
