Keeps water flowing down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit. Features power indicator light, 3-wire grounded cord, and plug. 7 watts per foot, 120 volts. Approved for rigid plastic and metal pipe. Pipe requires 1/2 non-flammable insulation such as fiberglass. For plastic pipe, its recommended wrapping pipe with aluminum foil before cable installation. Traditional resistance cable produces a fixed amount of heat based on the electrical line feed.
