The pipe has a removable receptacle, a cylindrical opium storage container with hinged lid, and a tubular piece to store another tool such as tweezers. The lengthy stem and mouthpiece curves upward, and a red cord is wrapped from the neck to a vertical tab on the canister body. Each side of the pipe is engraved with a scene of figures dressed in traditional robes, seated playing instruments or eating in a pastoral setting.
