It is important to oil the blade of the knife from time to time, especially for knives made of high-carbon steels (eg. Blue, White steels) since such knives will rust fast if not taken care of properly.Camellia oil - Tsubaki is cold pressed oil of sweet camellia seeds and it has been used for the protection of blades, tools, and weapons for centuries all over Japan. This oil is an acid free non-drying, tasteless and odorless oil that is food safe and non-toxic.  A few drops on a paper napkin or a kitchen towel is more than enough to apply a thin protective layer that will help to prevent surface oxidation and corrosion.Usage instructions:For high-carbon steel knives we recommend applying Camellia oil with a soft, clean cloth after every use to prevent rust and to protect the knife's surface, especially if you live in a damp climate or close to the ocean. For rust-resistant knives (steels like ZDP-189, R2, VG-10) we recommend applying Camellia oil with a soft, clean cloth once or twice per month, depending on the usage. Before using your knife on food again, wash with water and rinse clean.
