I have a Chinese calligraphy inkwell with a flat basin. To use, add a little water, then grind an ink stick gently in the water to dissolve the solid ink into the liquid. Take a writing brush and swirl it through the ink to wet it properly. Then press the brush into the conical depression in the corner of the inkwell, and rotate to release excess ink back into the pool. Your brush is ready to write a few strokes, before needing a refresh. Day 63 of 365 Days in Colour - Day 2 of October, Black. Taken with iPhone 4S.
