A truly versatile little tool, this dome brush is one of the most-used instruments in my makeup kit. Its petite shape and soft, dense synthetic bristles make it perfect for smaller details, including adding dimension to an eye look, spot-concealing, highlighting and contouring hard-to-reach places, and (my favorite) applying lip product. You can always count on this multipurpose brush to give you a natural yet controlled blend. To wash your brush, fully wet the bristles with warm (not hot!) water and swirl the brush in circles around in your palm with a bit of soap. After working the soap into a lather, rinse the brush under running water, lightly massaging the bristles to make sure there’s no soap left deep in the bristles. Rinse and repeat until the lather from your brush is clean and white. This might take a few times! Once all the makeup in your brush is cleansed, give it one last good rinse. You don’t want to leave soap trapped deep in your brush — this can cause the glue that holds everything together to dissolve. After your final rinse, gently squeeze the excess water out of the bristles and reshape the brush head gently with your fingers. DO NOT leave your brush upright in a cup or bag to dry! There’s no faster way to dissolve the glue and ruin your brush than to let water sit stagnant at the base of your brush. Instead, lay your brush flat to dry with the bristles hanging over the edge of a counter. This is the most important rule when it comes to washing your brushes, and proper care will make your brushes last years.
