This beautiful all-purpose fiber is popular for both traditional wet felting as well as dry felting with a needle. Leave unspun or spin into a fine to medium woolen, worsted or semi-worsted yarn. Corriedale will bulk after washing and has good elasticity. Yarn spun from this fiber is ideal for baby wear, woven, knitted or crocheted garments
The Corriedale sheep are found on sheep farms all over New Zealand. Their wool has a clear even crimp and is smooth and easy to spin and felt. Dyes beautifully, too. Know that the sheep are well-cared for, sheared humanely and not mulesed.
Comes in long ropey lengths, about 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick, referred to as sliver but known by many as roving. One ounce measures almost 2 yards in length.
27-30 micron, 4.25 staple length.
